PHINDA HOMESTEAD, KWA ZULU NATAL
What’s so great about this pool?
This is the swimming pool for you if you refuse to go on safari without a swimming pool, and it may well be the closest you’ll get to swimming with beautiful African elephants. Why? Because the swimming pool at this private game reserve, in the luxurious Phinda Homestead in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is host to these amazing visitors.
It’s the details that count…
- This is a beautifully designed rim-flow swimming pool.
- Elephants will never drink from the pool when guests are in it – they wait till you’ve gone and you can watch them from the nearby lodge.
- Even when the elephants aren’t there, the views around the Phinda Homestead are stunning.
- Gorgeous decking and loungers make the pool experience at Phinda fantastically comfortable.
So the swimming pool’s fab, now what’s the homestead like?
Phinda Homestead is one of six gloriously luxurious lodges in the Phinda Private Game reserve about three hours north of Durban. It’s a sole-use, air-conditioned safari villa. There are four bedrooms, every room has sliding panel windows so that you never lose sight of the amazing views outside. You get your own tracker, ranger, butler, chef, a safari vehicle and a nanny if you want one. There’s a state of the art exercise room.
What else is there to do?
You can organise your own tailor-made safari adventures with your ranger, and activities on offer include afternoon and evening game drives, bush walks, night turtle drives, swimming with whale sharks and more. And once you get back from your adventures, one of the best swimming pools in Africa awaits you.
